Difficulty: Easy, US terminology
Materials:
– 2.75mm hook/C-2 (US)
– 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted
– 50g yarn in WHITE and BLACK
– Scissors
– Tapestry needle
– Polyester toy stuffing
– Stitch marker
Abbreviations:
MR = magic ring
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
inc = single crochet increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec = decrease (sc 2 together)
sl st = slip stitch
BLO = back loop only
(..) = repeat the space in brackets the given number of times
[..] = total number of stitches
Notes:
– Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best, I prefer cotton.
– When changing colour, yarn over the new colour and pull through on the stitch prior.
– I used Lincraft Cotton Yarn 8ply for the finished photos but for the photos throughout I used the following yarns which are easier to see than the black cotton:
o WHITE = Scheepjes Stonewashed in col. 801 Moon Stone
o BLACK = Scheepjes Stonewashed in col. 803 Black Onyx
o PINK = Scheepjes Stonewashed in col. 835 Rhodochrosite
– I crochet loosely and use a 2.75-3.00mm hook with 8ply yarn. Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
– The yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of the finished item. My Polo the Panda is approximately 21cm tall (9 ¼ inches).
– I have used embroidered the eyes for this pattern. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.

Assembly:
You may sew in any order of preference, this is what I do (photos below):
1) Eye Patches – sew to the head between rows 8-16, 1 stitch apart.
2) Muzzle – sew between rows 14 – 21 of the head, add some stuffing to keep it firm.
3) Nose – embroider using BLACK on muzzle between rows 2-5. Sew a line down from bottom
of nose and add mouth (as shown).
4) Ears – sew to sides of head between rows 4-14.
5) Cheeks – sew to either side of the head between rows 16-18.
6) Eyes – embroider using
WHITE over rows 2-3 of the eye patches. Add eyelashes (optional).
7) Torso – weave tapestry needle through stitches on final row pull to close. Sew head to torso.
8) Arms – sew to torso between rows 31-33.
9) Tail – sew to back of torso between rows 17-21, stuff lightly.
Congratulations
