Materials
4.00mm hook (I use THESE hooks!);
2.25mm hook (optional – for cheeks)
Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in Hot Pink;
Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in Hot Green;
Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in Jute;
Red Heart Super Saver in Black for seeds and mouth;
Fine weight pink yarn (optional – for cheeks)
Safety eyes (or buttons or crochet thread);
Stitch marker;
Stuffing;
Tapestry needle

For this pattern, I use the invisible decrease method for all decreases, except where stated otherwise. To work the invisible decrease, insert your hook into
front-loop only of first st, then insert hook into front-loop only of next st (3 loops on your hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops, then yarn over and pull
through remaining 2 loops. If you’re unsure, you can simply use the regular decrease.
The pattern is worked in continuous rounds from top to bottom. Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each row; move it up as you go along.
If you tend to crochet more on the loose side, you may want to size down to a 3.5mm hook to ensure the stitches are tight enough.

Start with Hot Pink coloured yarn.
Foundation: Ch 4
Rnd 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc in first 2 chs, 4 sc in last ch. Continue on opposite
side of foundation ch. Sc in next ch, 3 sc in last ch (10 sts)
Rnd 2: Sc in next 3 sts, inc in next 2 sts. Repeat around (14 sts)
Rnd 3: Sc in next 3 sts, inc in next 4 sts, Repeat around (22 sts)
Rnd 4: Sc around (22 sts)
Rnd 5: Sc in next 5 sts, inc in next 6 sts. Repeat around. (34 sts)

Rnd 6-14: Sc around (34 sts)
Pull up a long loop and leave this for now. Add the seeds. I stitched on 5 seeds, evenly spaced at Rnd 8, and then placed 4 seeds, evenly spaced and
staggered with the first row of seeds, at Rnd 10. However, feel free to add as many seeds as you like! Tie a couple of knots to secure each seed and cut
away extra yarn tails.

Rnd 15-25: Sc around (34 sts)
Rnd 26: Sc 25, then switch to Hot Green coloured yarn.
When switching colours, insert hook into next st, yarn over and pull through st (2 loops on hook in first colour), then join your second colour by pulling it
through both loops on your hook. Continue with second colour.
Sc remaining 8 sts of this round. (34 sts)
Rnd 27-29: Sc around (34 sts)
Add safety eyes between Rnds 20 and 21. With black yarn, place mouth between eyes, beginning between

Rnds 21 and 22.
Begin stuffing your Watermelon Pop.
Rnd 30: In BLO, dec around (17 sts) Don’t worry about using the invisible decrease for this row, as it is very difficult to do the invisible decrease in back loops only.
Rnd 31: Sc in next st, dec in next 8 sts (9 sts)
Now we will start the stick. Switch to Jute coloured yarn.
Rnd 32: Sc around (9 sts)
Rnd 33-39: Sc around (9 sts)
Finish stuffing.

Rnd 40: Sc in first st, dec. Repeat around (6 sts).
Tie off, leaving a long tail for closing. Weave the tail through each of the remaining 6 sts, ending with the tied off st. Pull the tail down through the stick and
out through the back. Pull tail tightly to close. Hide tail inside.

Optional Cheeks (in fine weight pink yarn) and 2.25mm hook:
Rnd 1: Sc 6 into a Magic Ring. Slst to first st. Tie off, leaving a tail for sewing.
Attach cheeks by sewing beneath each eye.
For the Raspberry Mango Sherbert Ice Pop, I used Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in Tangerine and Chamomile. I simply switched colours every 7 rounds for
first 28 rows and then continued with Chamomile before switching to Jute for the stick at Rnd 32 .
